Instagram Sticker

In 2017, I created an iconic Pride sticker for Instagram Stories, featuring a broad-shouldered dancer in red heels. Originally intended as a month-long campaign to celebrate Pride Month, the sticker resonated globally and remained on the platform for four years. Used by millions, including high-profile celebrities, it became a symbol of queer culture and self-expression. The design's impact extended far beyond Instagram, it was transformed into a 10-foot-high Mardi Gras float, featured in Gestalten’s design book, and led to exciting opportunities like an Instagram Vogue takeover and murals at Facebook’s offices.

This project remains a career highlight, showcasing the power of illustration to inspire and connect.

In 2019, the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade attracted an estimated 500,000 spectators, celebrating the theme "Fearless" with over 12,500 participants and 200 vibrant floats.

Among the highlights was a 10-foot-high float inspired by my Instagram Pride sticker, featuring a broad-shouldered dancer in red heels. This design, originally created for Instagram Stories, became a global symbol of queer culture. The event also featured an appearance by pop sensation Kim Petras on the float itself.

This video by Pedestrian captures the essence of the Facebook Pride float at the 2019 Sydney Mardi Gras, showcasing the creativity and inclusivity that define the celebration.
